Transcarpathian region prosecutor’s office proved in the court the guilt of the former head of the Khust branch of "Zakarpatgaz" Pavlo Nahirny of committing a tragic accident, which killed a 32-year-old woman and her daughter, and seriously injured two children (Part 3 of Art.286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Prosecutors insisted on the maximum term of imprisonment under the article – 10 years, but the court sentenced him to 8 years in prison.
Recall that in the evening November 19, 2012, Pavlo Nahirny, while being intoxicated, driving a car brand "Mitsubishi Pajero", on the 68th km of the bypass road in the city of Khust, grossly violated the Road Traffic Rules of Ukraine – drove into oncoming traffic and collided with a car "Daewoo Nexia GIX" driven by a 32-year-old woman with three children as passengers.
As a result of the tragic accident, the woman and her 7-year-old daughter died, and the other children were seriously injured. Pavlo Nahirny himself, without suffering any major injuries, left the scene of the tragedy.Later he tried various methods to avoid justice, and even was hiding in Hungary where he was found and extradited to Ukraine.
