The Bükkvinfest International Wine Festival has been held here since 1992.
This is a bright event for tourists and specialists – winemakers and sommeliers. This year’s holiday lasted from June 19 to 22, and included a series of events: tastings, master classes, meetings, concerts, and, of course, the International Contest of Wines.
The Chateau Chizay company also took part in the bright event of the season. The Transcarpathian wine-making company represented Ukraine among the six other countries participating in the festival.
In total, participants submitted more than 230 samples of wine for the Bükkvinfest XXVII competition. The result of the leading Ukrainian winery is astonishing – 10 medals and the prestigious award for the Best Foreign Wine of the Festival!
Among the 10 diplomas for the best wines, 6 are "gold" medals. Thus, the international jury of professional sommeliers gave the highest rates to Pinot Noir, Furmint, Cuvée, Riesling, Kagor and Rose Pinot Noir!
The following 4 positions from the bright line of wines Chateau Chizay won "silver" awards: "Troyanda Karpat", seasoned Merlot, white dry wine Traminer and Cserszegi.
According to the founder of the winery Chateau Chizay Gennady Gutman, these are the awards one can be proud of:
"I congratulate the whole team of Chateau Chizay, this is our common victory! In particular, I want to thank the wine-growers of the Chateau Chizay, headed by Atilla Tot, and the wine-makers of the company headed by Zoltan Udvargeli. A bottle of wine begins in the vineyard, and it is very important to handle vine and crop properly for a good result. But the work in the wine shop is art. And when professionalism and love for work are combined at all levels of work, we achieve success. Such as, for example, this recognition of our, Transcarpathian, Ukrainian wines abroad!".
