Ivan Shits “We are doing everything to avoid the fate of “Metallurg” and “Volyn”

The General Director of "Goverla" Ivan Shits told about repayment of debts to former players and the situations with obtaining a certificate for the next season.

– Debts are being repaid. Wages? I do not want to comment on it. I have worked in football since 1970s and we have never discussed players’ wages. Why aren’t they talking about astronauts, agronomists, tractor, deputies? Is it necessary to write about what will be with football tomorrow?

We are doing everything to avoid the fate of "Metallurg" and "Volyn." "Goverla" is a brand that means a lot to fans. We sign settlement agreements with some players, we pay money to others. We’ve been in Greece, and negotiate with Romanians. But there is not enough money, and that’s it.

The players were receiving huge salaries, and it killed our football. The players’ salaries were very overestimated. It continued for two years. I was opposing it, and those who understand football in Transcarpathia know that we should not have signed up some players.   But this is history. We, unfortunately, then made a big mistake by inviting those players, and now we need to remedy it – the Sport Arena quoted Shits.
