Transcarpathian Regional Council Chairman Ivan Baloha met with the Consul General of Hungary in Uzhgorod Jozsef Bacskai and consul Endre Salipski. The parties discussed the situation in the country and Transcarpathia.
First of all, Hungarian diplomats expressed their condolences to the Ukrainian people. "What happened in Kyiv, when demonstrators were killed is a catastrophe. Our country is ready to provide humanitarian aid, ready to take victims for treatment. Human life is the highest value, and the one who encroached on it can not be excused," – Mr. Consul General said.
Jozsef Bacskai said that yesterday in Budapest, there had been a meeting of foreign ministers of the Visegrad Four, who adopted the appropriate statement on the situation in Ukraine. In particular, our neighbors offered to introduce visa-free travel for our citizens, to provide technical assistance to a new government, the intensify provision of financial assistance under the program "Eastern Partnership".
In turn, Ivan Baloha thanked foreign partners for their support.
"Bloodshed was stopped. Transcarpathians were also members of the Maidan. Now, they are searching for those responsible for the situation, those who gave the criminal orders. We need to find a compromise in society for democratic development of the country", – Ivan Baloha said.
