Despite the significant increase in the number of patients per day, the Ministry of Health does not intend to initiate a return to strict quarantine.
According to the RBC-Ukraine news agency, the Ukrainian authorities will not reintroduce total full quarantine in the country, which provides for the complete shutdown of transport, markets and shops. This was announced on Thursday, October 8, by the Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov at a briefing, the Korrespondent reported.
He noted that total quarantine is introduced to break the disease transmission chain, and said that the basic function of the state is to provide medical care.
Recall that the Cabinet of Ministers imposed strict quarantine from March 18 for three months – in the period when isolated cases of coronavirus were recorded in Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Health, over the past 24 hours, the increase in new cases was 5,397, and 900 people with confirmed coronavirus were hospitalized.
