Is sanatorium ‘Verkhovyna’ led to bankruptcy?

Reporters were told about the mineral water of Transcarpathia in the press center ‘Zakarpattia’ today, July 12. In particular, it was said that our region has 34 types of medicinal mineral waters, but their potential does not use fully.

Thus, a Director of ‘Ukrprofozdorovnytsa’ Representative Lyubov Burak said that unique resort ‘Verkhovyna’, which uses extremely healing water from Soymiv and Kelechy springs, specializes in treating blood-forming organs.

‘Water from these springs does not have analogues in Europe. Soymiv spring is rich in calcium and Kelechyn is in iron, so they can treat a wide range of diseases, in particular, it is very good in ‘Verkhovyna’ to pass rehabilitation for Chernobyl victims or those with anemia – said the representative of ‘Ukrprofozdorovnytsa’. – However, the situation is such, that in middle of the season this sanatorium is ‘full’ only for 30%, and all because of the regional social insurance (Transcarpathian Regional Branch the Social Insurance Fund on temporary disability) for the second year does not buy vouchers to this recreational facility’.

According to Lubov Burak, social insurance’s leadership explains that ‘Verkhovyna’ does not pass under the terms of tenders, because there is almost no demand among the population. However, at the same time, hematological department of the regional hospital is full. Therefore this sanatorium could be filled by those who need specialized rehabilitation.

It is interesting, and perhaps this is simply one of the schemes which would bring a unique health resort to bankruptcy.
