Investigation will find out the cause of the damage to the insulator which led to blackouts in half of Uzhgorod

The "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC informs about a technological accident at the substation Uzhgorod-1   

December 30th, in the evening, at about 21.30, electricity supply disappered in some parts of Uzhgorod. In particular, the city center, neighborhoods Radvanka, Horyany, Novy, the area of the "Drunk market" and some settlements near the regional center were left without electricity.

According to the first deputy director general – the marketing director of the "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC Artem Martyniuk, the cause of the breakdown was a technological accident at the Uzhgorod-1 110/35 kV substation – the key substation, which feeds the regional center. "The differential protection of 110 kV bus lines was triggered due to the damage of the bus line insulator unit", – A. Martyniuk said.

The management of the "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC and the emergency crew immediately arrived at the scene of the accident. Within half an hour, the damaged insulator was replaced.

The cause of the damage to the isolator will be established after the official investigation.
