Inspections on the road

From 1 to 20 of October, the commission review of the road network is conducted in Transcarpathia – the traffic police informed.

The measures are conducted with the participation of representatives of road services, municipal organizations, local authorities, the traffic police departments, Ukrainian Railways and Ukrainian Transport Inspectorate.

During the examination, the experts examine the state of the roadway pavement (the presence of strain in the form pits, subsidence, rutting etc.), curbs, sidewalks, traffic facilities, the functionality of the outdoor lighting, maintenance of railway crossings. Particular attention is paid to the verification of implementation of measures to reduce accidents in places of high accident occurrence rate, the installation of means of traffic management on hazardous roads and restoration of exterior lighting.

In addition, the experts will check the readiness of road utilities production units for road maintenance in winter period (condition of snowplows and trucks, the availability of an adequate supply of fuel and lubricants and sand-salt mixture, etc.), and their readiness to impose restriction or closure of traffic on the road during possible emergencies due to a sharp deterioration in weather conditions.
