Information for Transcarpathians: from October 1, you will not be able to pay with 25 kopiyka coins

This was reported by the NBU.

The National Bank explained that 25 kopiyka coins are not exchanged now due to the withdrawal of 1, 2 and 5 kopiyka coins from circulation last year.

According to the bank, now this problem will be solved. Withdrawal of 25 kopiyka coins will simplify cash payments.

The National Bank will also be more active in withdrawing from circulation paper notes of 1 and 2 hryvnias and coins of 1 hryvnia issued in 1996, replacing them with the corresponding circulation coins issued in 2018.

Old-style banknotes put into circulation before 2003 hardly perform their function as a means of payment. Currently, they account for just about 1.8% of the total number of banknotes in circulation.
