On average, 15 illegal landfills are cleared in Uzhgorod every day, 20 tons of garbage are removed, and at least 240 tons of waste are removed per month, according to the Department of Municipal Economy.
People bring to trash cans not only household waste, but also construction waste, old furniture, tree branches. Cleaned sites very quickly turn into illegal dumps again, and garbage is removed from them at the expense of the local budget, because the tariff for solid waste disposal does not include the removal of construction waste, branches, leaves, which is especially important now.
