Passing Pidhradska street in Uzhgorod, it is hard to miss the "Volksbank" bank office on the first floor of an old building. Breaking all the rules of taste and common sense, it is painted in glaring blue color, making it very sharply dissonant with the color scheme throughout the building and the overall architecture of the historic center of Uzhgorod.
As the chief architect of the regional center Oleksandr Sheba explained uzhgorod.in, the appearance of each facade, and especially in the historic district, must be approved by the City Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, and it can not be modified without permission. In this case, the approval for such a gaudy facade definitely has not been issued, therefore the bankers violated not only the city planning rules, but also the rules of common sense. After all it is just unacceptable to spoil a historic building with such a bad taste.
uzhgorod.in hopes that the central bank management will respond to such unsavory image of the institution, created by their Uzhgorod local managers.
