In Uzhgorod school №9 someone, probably, sprayed the contents of the pepper spray

Uzhgorod City Council commented on the situation in Uzhgorod school №9.

Today, around 11.00, an unknown gaseous substance was detected on the ground floor of the school, the smell was spreading rapidly to the upper floors. Children and workers of the institution were immediately evacuated; the relevant services – police, rescuers, doctors, gas service – were notified.

The children, who complained about their health condition, were taken to the City Children’s Hospital. Currently, there are 11 children in the hospital with pricking in the throat, dizziness, nausea, grey-out. Three students suffered from stronger symptoms than others, they are in the intensive care unit, the others are in ordinary wards. The lives of the children are not in danger, the doctors say.

Classes in the school were cancelled, investigatory actiiities are being carried out. It is suspected that somebody sprayed the contents of the pepper spray.
