In Uzhgorod, an “office” thief was caught

A 41-year-old previously convicted resident of Uzhgorod was trying to steal someone else’s wallet 
from the office of the company, but was caught red-handed.
Uzhgorod police received a report from a resident of the city that an unknown offender had tried to 
steal a wallet from her office.
As it turned out, a 41-year-old resident of Uzhgorod, who already has a criminal record for theft, at 
noon, entered the famous building on Petefi street in Uzhgorod, where offices of many companies 
are situated. The thief began prowling about unlocked offices in the hope of stealing something. In 
one of the offices noticed a handbag on a table, in which he found a wallet with 600 hryvnia. The 
thief tried to take the money, but was caught. He was detained by an employee of the institution 
who called the police.
Criminal proceeding over this fact has been initiated. The detained thief is being checked for 
involvement in other crimes.
