In Uzhgorod, a robber attacked a woman and took her belongings

The incident happened yesterday, January 1, on Kapushanska Street, around 10:30 pm.
The Main Office of the National Police of Transcarpathia reported that a 30-year-old Uzhgorod woman had appealed to the police and said that she had been approached by two unidentified men, one of whom knocked her down and took her belongings.
A little later, the robber was detained, he was a 23-year-old Uzhgorod resident who had been prosecuted for property crimes.
The robber was detained by officers of the patrol police and the criminal police of Uzhgorod. Officers of the investigative team immediately arrived at the scene to document the crime.
The police seized a stolen woman’s bag containing a cellphone, fitness watch and other personal effects.
Criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 186 (2) of the CCU, namely robbery involving violence.
The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. The police are now checking him for involvement in other similar crimes committed in Uzhgorod.
The robber faces up to 6 years in prison.
