In Uzhgorod, a man stabbed his aquaintance with a knife

Officers of the criminal police of Uzhgorod department found the man who came at his aquaintance’s work place and without explanation of the reasons of hostility beat him using a knife.

In July, the police received from doctors of Uzhgorod Hospital a report that a patient with two knife wounds had been admitted to them. The investigative team talked with the victim, but he refused to write a statement and give any explanations. After providing medical care, doctors discharged the patient.

Officers of the criminal police of the Uzhgorod department found out that the man had been beaten by a 21-year-old resident of Uzhgorod. The man came right at the victim’s workplace and began to beat him. In the end, the attacker used a knife. The suspect could not explain the reasons for this behavior. The men hardly knew each other.

A criminal proceeding over this incident was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 122 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is, intentional infliction of bodily harm of moderate severity. Such an offense is punishable by corrective labor for a term up to two years, or restraint of liberty for a term up to three years, or imprisonment for a term up to three years. The choice of a pretrial restraint against the suspect is being decided.
