Officers of the Uzhgorod Police Department together with specialists of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region and other law enforcement agencies promptly responded to the car mining in the regional center. At the moment, all the circumstances of this case are being established.
Yesterday, October 30, the police received a report about a possible mining of a car in the yard on 8 Bereznya street in Uzhgorod. Officers of the Uzhgorod Police Department, the Patrol Police, the Criminal Investigation Department, including the Division for Investigation of Crimes Against Human Life and Health, explosive experts, cynologists, criminologists, rescuers, gas service and doctors were working at the scene. It was found out that unknown persons had attached to the driver’s door of a car Mitsubishi Pajero an object similar to a grenade with a fuse. Law enforcement officers removed the object and sent it for examination. The car was delivered to the impound lot of the Uzhgorod police department.
The police opened criminal proceeding under Part 2 of Art. 15, Part 2 of Art. 194 of the CCU, that is, an attempt to deliberately destroy or damage property by burning or exploding. This offense is punishable by imprisonment for three to fifteen years.
