In Transcarpathian region, there is a wood, which the unique “Stradivari” violins were made of

Everyone knows about state forestries, forester activities, which are divided into protection of forest plantations, reforestation after harvesting, and the cultivation of young forests in nurseries. However, not everyone knows that state forestry enterprises also manage reserves. Thus, on the territory of Brustury forestry enterprise, there are several natural reserves of national importance.

One of those is "Hladynsky", the area of which is 130 hectares.

According to Dmytro Chusa, the director of the forestry, the Hladynsky reserve is one of the most beautiful places in the forestry. It is a place where you can hide from the city bustle, walk the forest paths, enjoy the smell of trees, flowers and grass. The reserve has a scientific, environmental and educational value. And forest managers are engaged in nature protection activity in this untouched corner of nature.

The Hladynsky Reserve is located to the east of the village of Lopukhovo in Tyachiv district of Transcarpathian region, on the north-western slopes of the Svydovets ridge, on the left bank of the Turbat River.

The area of the reserve is 130 hectares, it was formed in 1974. The wood of these trees is especially valuable for the production of musical instruments, in particular, the "Stradivari" violin. These unique musical instruments used to be made of it. The animal world is represented by typical species for the Carpathian Mountains: brown bear, Carpathian deer, salamander, common viper, as well as Alpine newt listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. It should be noted that, at the initiative of the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Forest and Hunting Range Administration, Valeriy Murha, the area of the nature reserve fund of the region has considerably increased in recent years.
