In Transcarpathian region, a guy mistakenly stole someone else’s car, thinking that it was the car of his friend

A 25-year-old resident of Beregovo called the district police station and reported that right near the supermarket, his old car "Lada 2103" had been stolen. This was announced by the press service of Transcarpathian regional police.

The young man said that he had parked his "Lada" near the store, and when he came back half an hour later, the car was gone. There were more expensive cars mearby, but for some reason the thiefs did not try to steal them.

The police unit quickly arrived at the scene and began questioning witnesses. Imagine the surprise of law enforcement officers and the owner of the missing car, when a few minutes later, the stolen car drove up to the supermarket. As if nothing had happened, a man came out of it and… walked towards the police.

"It’s my car! – the owner of the "Lada" shouted. – Stop the thief!". The "robber" was immediately grabbed by policemen, but he managed to shout that he was innocent.

It turns out that on the day before, he asked his friend to lend him his car to carry home some goods from the supermarket. The friend agreed and gave him the keys to the car, saying that he would easily find it – it was on the parking lot at the mall. Ironically, this man’s "Lada" looked exactly like the white car of the Beregovo resident who had come to shop in the supermarket.

The conflict was resolved, when the friend of the "thief" arrived at the scene in exactly the same car as that of the resident of Beregovo. The "victim" did not write a statement to the police.
