The idea arose due to the reduction of timber harvesting and the development of tourism. And so foresters began to harvest and produce a natural product.
The science of tea production was mastered from scratch, the necessary equipment was purchased and in 2019 the first test batch was produced.
However, foresters say that you can’t dry tea right away, otherwise you will just get hay.
"Everyone knows about Ceylon and Chinese tea, but few Transcarpathians remember that foresters in the region were also engaged in side activity – harvesting of mushrooms, honey and healing tea," – the statement reads.
