In Transcarpathia, the Security Service of Ukraine caught the head of a district police department and a forester, who were covering illegal logging

Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region together with the police division of internal security and the military prosecutor exposed a district police chief and an employee of the regional forest management office who allowed illegal logging for bribes.  

 The forester was detained "red-handed" after receiving 6,000 UAH bribe from a local resident. The policeman and the forester promised to reduce the amount of fines for illegal logging. In the event of refusal, they threatened to open criminal proceedings.

The policeman and the employee of the forestry company were notified of being suspeced under Art.369-2 and under Part 3 of Art.368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine respectively.

The pretrial investigation continues.
