During 2020, a group of criminals was committing thefts from payment terminals in Vynogradiv district. Two unknown men would damage screens of the terminals with a metal crowbar. In this way, they gained access to and stole the money.
Officers of the Vynogradiv criminal police carried out a number of necessary operative measures and found out that two residents of the Mukachevo district – aged 21 and 27 – could be involved in those crimes.
In order to identify and record evidence that would confirm the involvement of these persons in the commission of crimes, investigators conducted court-sanctioned searches at their places of residence. Police confiscated from the defendants’ apartment items, which will be used to prove the guilt of the perpetrators.
In addition, police officers seized the car which the thieves were driving during the commission of crimes. The vehicle was taken to the impound lot of the local police department.
The thieves’ involvement in at least five such criminal offenses has already been proven. The perpetrators caused to the victim material damage in the amount of about 100 thousand hryvnias.
Police investigators classify the crimes under Part 3 of Art. 185 of the Criminal code of Ukraine, that is theft which caused considerable damage to the victim. The offenders will be punished!
