An investigating-operative group of Uzhgorod Garrison Military Prosecution Office together with officers of the organized crime department of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region detained the acting commander of a military unit when he was receiving undue advantage.
It was reported by the Public Relations Department of the General Prosecutor of Ukraine.
As established by investigators, the bribe in the amount of 5,000 UAH was given by a contract service soldier for not including him to the list of soldiers to be dispatched to the ATO zone.
The detained officer was notified of being suspected of having committed a criminal offense under Part 3 of Art. 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or obtaining of undue advantage by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and a motion to the court to impose on him a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention has been prepared.
The said crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with confiscation of property and with a special forfeiture.
