Yesterday, at the railway crossing "Salovka", while checking a freight train "Batyeve – Eperjeske", border guards of the Chop detachment found a batch of smuggled cigarettes. The tobacco products were found in a car with wood with the help of a sniffer dog that instantly smelled the tobacco.
The found 830 packs of cigarettes "Lifa" and "Fest", that were hidden in round wood, were handed over to officers of the SFS.
Another dog trained at finding cigarettes helped border guards to detect cigarettes at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod". A citizen of Slovakia was trying to carry eight dozen packs of cigarettes hidden under the cabin roof sheathing and in the dashboard of a car "Skoda".
Along with the cigarettes "LM", "PS" and "Marlboro", they seized from him the vehicle used for smuggling. The total amount of the seized property is almost 43,000 UAH.
