The mineral waters of Transcarpathia are unique and in no way inferior, and sometimes superior, to the famous waters of the Caucasus, France, the Czech Republic, and Poland.
In Mizhhirya district, there are several deposits of carbonated mineral waters. The amount of mineral water in these deposits is estimated at millions of tons.
And in the Petrovets tract, in the village of Petrovets, there is the only mineral geyser. It is located on the territory of Mizhhirya and Verkhnya Hora state forestries. The foresters maintain the mineral spring: they have set up gazebos, cafes, made a lake and put fish in it.
Foresters say that the water in it is salty, contains iron, which is evidenced by the red-orange color of the stones.
In the past, locals used the geyser to check the clock until it was put in a pipe. Today, the natural monument almost every 2 hours (depending on different circumstances and seasons) discharges a sparkling fountain 4 to 6 meters high for about 10 minutes. This water has a healing effect for various diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
Hundreds of thousands of tourists come here every year to watch the geyser: Vuchkove Geyser and Mizhhirya district in general are popular destinations for lovers of fascinating natural phenomena and picturesque landscapes.
