In Transcarpathia, customs officers seized tobacco “gifts” for Europians (PHOTOS)

On Sunday, December 14, around five o’clock in the morning, a van "Fiat" driven by a citizen of Ukraine arrived at the checkpoint "Tisa" of the Chop Customs.

"Customs officers, in cooperation with the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region, considering the previously received information about a possible transportation of goods hidden from customs control, sent the vehicle to the "red corridor" for in-depth inspection. As a result, they found in the van caches with a large amount of foreign tobacco products without excise stamps of Ukraine," – Victor Lakatos, Inspector of the customs post "Tisa" of the Chop Customs reported.

Customs officers found in the van 22,130 packs of tobacco products, including – 13,600 packs of "Jin Ling", 6,600 packs of "NZ Gold super slims", 1,200 packs of red "Fest" and 730 packs of blue "Fest".

Officers of the Chop Customs drew up a report on violation of customs regulations on the grounds of an offense under Part. 1 of Art. 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Sanction of the article provides for seizure of the vehicle as well as fine in amount of 100% cost of the items of customs regulations violation and their confiscation.
