At two stations, voters were caught taking pictures of their ballots with mobile phones. Criminal proceedings have been initiated over these facts which are treated as a possible vote-buying.
As of 17.30, Uzhgorod city police have received 20 complaints about violations of the election legislation.
Following two of them, the investigation department initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art.160 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (bribery of voters), the site of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Office in Transcarpathia informs. The sanction of the article provides for punishment by a fine of 100 to 300 tax-free minimum incomes, correctional work for up to two years, or restriction of liberty for the same period.
Both reports were received from polling stations that female voters were taking pictures of marked ballots with their mobile phones.
The investigation should find out why they were doing it.
