In Transcarpathia, a bribe-taker tried to eat dollars (PHOTOS)

On January 9, 2019, investigators of the territorial department of the State Bureau of Investigations in the city of Lviv detained the border guard inspector of the department "Luzhanka" of the Mukachevo Border Guard Detachment.

In particular, during November 2018 – January 2019, the suspect was demanding and regularly receiving from a Transcarpathian an unlawful benefit for a total amount of $ 1,000. The bribe was for assistance in the unhindered transportation of tobacco products from Ukraine to the EU countries through the checkpoint "Luzhanka".

While receiving another tranche of the unlawful benefit in the amount of $ 200, the inspector was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. Urgent investigative activities are being carried out.

It is also worth noting that during the search, the detainee tried to eat $ 200.

The offender is charged with a crime under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the pre-trial restraint will be imposed by the court, the press service of the military prosecutor’s office of the western region of Ukraine reported.
