In Transcarpathia, 2248 persons suffer from influenza

According to the deputy head of the department of organization of state sanitary and epidemiological monitoring Victoria DYORDYAY, during the 42nd calendar week of 2015, 2,248 people turned to medical institutions of the region for ARVI and influenza, which is 4.5% (106 cases) less than that during the previous week of the year. 69.0% of cases (1551) are children under 17 years. The incidence rate of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections among the population of the region is 17.9 per 10 thousand people, which is 25.1% below the epidemic threshold.

 The highest incidence of ARVI is recorded in the city of Uzhgorod and the lowest – in Tyachiv district. Among children, the highest incidence is registered in the age group of 5-14 years (709 cases). 4.0% of the total of cases were hospitalized, of which 84.0% are children.

Experts of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service in the region continue to monitor the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections among the regional population and take active measures to increase public awareness on the prevention of respiratory infections.
