In accordance with Article 203-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, gambling is punishable by a fine of ten to fifty thousand non-taxable income, in other words for violating the law and carrying out this kind of activity one has to pay at least 170 thousand hryvnias.
Recently the police received information that one of the enterprises of the district center along with providing Internet services was carrying out prohibited activities – gambling.
The regional and Perechyn district police departments decided to check this information. Indeed, in the back room of one of the Internet cafes in Perechyn district they found three slot machines in good condition that were connected to the mains and waiting for customers.
At the time of the arrival of police officers, one of the machines was played on by a boy, who said the policemen that for 20 UAH you could get a good dose of adrenaline and also a hope for a big win there. Although hopes of the money hunters are vague and sometimes they are paid for by the whole family, obviously the house had no shortage of clients. Three slot machines and five computer base units were confiscated. Premises of the above mentioned Internet cafe have been sealed. The criminal case over this fact has been instituted – informed Miroslava Pekar, Perechyn district police.
