In March 2015, Ukraine increased imports of natural gas through Europe by 11% to 1.349 billion cubic meters compared with the volume of gas imports in February.
This is stated in the report of the gas transmission system operator "Ukrtransgaz" the "Ukrainski Novyny" write.
"In March, 1.349 billion cubic meters of natural gas was imported to Ukraine from Europe, which is 11% more than that in the previous month. The increase in gas import was attributed to an increase in gas supplies from Slovakia by 7% to 1.177 billion cubic meters, and from Hungary by 33% to 0.149 billion cubic meters", – the operator stated.
Also, a small amount of gas was received through Poland.
Over the same period in the last year, gas for the needs of domestic consumers from Europe was not supplied.
As reported, in 2014 Ukraine increased imports of natural gas from Europe by 59% or 3 billion cubic meters to 5.1 billion cubic meters.
