In Irshava district, a “Jaguar” collided with “Lanos” (PHOTOS)

As a result of a road accident, a verbal dispute between young drivers and their passengers grew into a fight and stabbing.

In the middle of the night, a doctor of Irshava District Hospital reported to the district police department that they had admitted a young man with injuries that he had received in the village of Kushnytsya from unknown persons.

The investigative team of Irshava district police arrived at the scene immediately. Law enforcement officers found out that the young man with friends was riding in a car "Daewoo-Lanos" from the village of Bronka towards the village of Kushnytsya. On the way to the village of Kushnytsya, another car – a modern "Jaguar" – was driving in the opposite direction with the high beam lights on. The driver of the "Daewoo" also turned high beam on expecting that the driver of the "Jaguar" would switch on the low beam lights. However, the driver did not switch the light. Later, a disdainful behavior of both drivers became the cause of the incident.

The drivers started a true night race between the villages of Bronka and Kushnytsya. The driver of the "Jaguar", who is a native of Khust district, caught up the "Lanos" near the gas station in Kushnytsya, and blocked him with his car. The driver of the "Daewoo" tried to move backwards, but the "Jaguar" rammed it, so that the "Lanos" slid into a ditch. After that, three guys came out of the "Jaguar" and started beating another car with bats. Then, one of the Khust guys opened the car door and inflicted minor injuries to a passenger of the "Lanos" with a knife…

According to the acting chief of Irshava district police department Lieutenant Colonel Myron Chernychko, the investigator Ivan Babynets opened the criminal proceeding over this incident under Part 2 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism), the young men face restriction of liberty for a term of up to five years, or imprisonment for up to four years. The guys from Khust district damaged the car "Daewoo-Lanos" causing the car owner material damage in the amount of about 30,000 UAH.
