February 3, 2013 in the village of Chorny Potik in Irshava district there was a public hearing on lobbying interest of Hunting and Fishing Association "Velyky Dil" that want to lease from the rural community 3,648 hectares of forest and 450 hectares of arable land for a period of 49 years for breeding pheasants and horses.
The village meeting brought together more than 100 people from five neighboring villages. The transfer of forest land concerned the community back at the extraordinary session the village council. At the specially convened session, on January 3, 2013, the village deputies refused to transfer these lands to an unknown owner, obviously, related to Irshava power figures. That is what the public hearing was initiated for.
However, no one came to the community, except Yevhen Manaylo, the village head, who had initiated the discussion. The deputies Viktor Virak, Igor Palyok and Vasyl Pavlyuk urged villagers not to give village lands to the ruling party.
The head of Irshava district organization of the "Svoboda" party Mykhailo Mochan also spoke in defense of the community.
At the meeting, the community of Chorny Potik Village Council for the second time decided against the transfer of forests and arable land to the Hunting and Fishing Association "Velyky Dil", behind which the real owners are hiding from the public. Irshava organization of the "Svoboda" party is preparing the appeal concerning the attempt of theft of forest and hunting grounds to the deputy of Ukraine Valeriy Chernyakov, the curator of Transcarpathia, and Irina Sekh, the chairman of the committee on environment.
