In Beregovo district, African swine fever was found in a wild pig

On Monday, May 29, in a hunting range near the village of Beregufalu in Beregovo district, a dead wild sow with signs of viral disease was found.

– The pig’s tissue samples were immediately sent to Kyiv State Research Institute of Laboratory Diagnostics and Veterinary Expertise, where experts determined that the animal died from the pathogen of African swine fever, – Hennadiy Moskal said. – On Thursday, the meeting of the antiepizootic emergency committee took place in Beregovo. Quarantine restrictions were introduced, which include the killing of wild pigs in the hunting range, where African swine fever pathogen was detected, veterinary inspection of domestic pigs in the neighboring villages, ban on the movement of domestic pigs without approval of the health service and others.

The corpse of the wild pig with African swine fever was burned down. As of Thursday morning, no other animal with the agent of this viral disease has been detected, the situation is under control of the authorities.
