Hungary has lifted veto from the NATO-Ukraine statement: the document has been approved

Budapest has lifted its veto over the approval of the NATO-Ukraine commission statement, as Hungarian proposals for the document were taken into account. 
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto told that to the MTI state agency on October 31. According to him, the ambassadors of NATO and Ukraine approved the document, with last minute Hungarian proposals. 
"Eventually, our proposals were taken into account, which is why the joint statement strongly advocates for the Hungarian community and calls on Ukraine to adhere to international rules and standards of international organizations," Szijjarto said. Source – "The Obozrevatel".
The text contains two references to the rights of the Hungarian minority. In particular, the Allies urge Kyiv to fully comply with the Venice Commission’s recommendations on the Law on Education, and Ukraine pledged to do so. 
The document also states that "the success of the reforms, including the fight against corruption, will be crucial to creating a foundation for a successful and peaceful Ukraine, firmly established among European democracies committed to common values, respect for human rights, minorities and the rule of law." 
The statement also demands to end the war in the Donbas, to return the territory under the control of Ukraine, to return the occupied Crimea to Ukraine.
