On February 13, the Velyky Berezny district hospital received medical equipment from Hungary. In particular, those were an ultrasound device, an X-ray diffraction reader, hospital adjustable beds, wheelchairs and other necessary equipment.
This humanitarian aid from the neighboring country became possible with the assistance of the authorized representative of the government of Hungary, Istvan Greja. It was delivered to the hospital in Velyky Berezny by Jozsef Buhajla, the Consul General of Hungary in Uzhgorod.
He noted that Hungary had been providing assistance to the people of Transcarpathia many times.
He told that he had received a request from Istvan Greja to find a hospital in Transcarpathia, which would require urgent help. Thus, they found out about the needs of the hospital in Velyky Berezny.
"The medical equipment is not new, but it was chosen by specialists, therefore we hope it will considerably improve the level of medical care to residents of the district," – Jozsef Buhajla said.
Velyky Berezny district hospital was built in 1975, it has 107 beds. It is a multi-profile medical facility, which includes medical, neurological, traumatological, surgical, gynecological, maternity and pediatric wards.
