How much is to be student?

One month is left to the Day of Knowledge. Therefore, some parents have one more financial trouble. On the first of September pupils and students must go to school not with empty hands. In addition to traditional bouquets, they will need an arsenal of necessary things. For example, tracksuit, shoes for children cost as much as that for young people – 150 UAH and more.

Five-grader Natalka counts money better than adults. She says, "For one year I need at least 10 pens, 15 60-page notebooks, I still have color paper and paint left from the last year. But I want a new dress – for about 200 UAH. But it’s not worth to hurry up. Usually there are fairs in August. There’s wider choice there."

Owners of specialized stores say that prices of students’ accessories will not grow. A seller Tetyana in some respects agrees with the girl, she believes that they will start buying stationery for schoolchildren, as well as clothing and shoes closer to the fall.

"Add to the list socks, tights, bows, tie, pen, ruler, clay and a dozen or so small essentials – and it will be a tidy sum", – a buyer Artem says. The man says: "On average, in order to prepare a student in 2013, we need a monthly minimum wage – at least one thousand hryvnias."

Well, sadly to state, but education here is still not cheap. But… comparing it with tuition fee in universities, one realizes that the cost of school versus university is nothing…
