The official opening of the ninth festival-fair "Honey Savior" took place today near Uzhgorod historical and cultural complex "Owl’s Nest".
The ideological inspirer of the festival – the chairman of the Beekeepers Association of Transcarpathia, Volodymyr Lyakh – told about the traditional honey festival, noting that about two dozen of the best beekeepers of the region presented their products there. He added that the weather conditions this season had not been very favorable for honey harvesting, and expressed hope that next year the anniversary, tenth, "Honey Savior" would be even bigger.
The soloist of the folk vocal ensemble "Pysanka" Anastasia Vyshnevska presented a small concert program.
The annual honey drink holiday is organized by the Association of Beekeepers of Transcarpathia with the support of Uzhgorod City Council.
As we already reported, in total, more than 40 Transcarpathian producers of honey products, as well as wines, cheese, sausages, etc. are taking part in the "Honey Savior". Folk craftsmen brought souvenirs to the festival.
You can watch the process of honey making in the beehive displayed at the festival. Also in the Heroes of the Maidan park, you can try dishes of Transcarpathian cuisine.
"Honey Savior" will continue tomorrow, August 18, you still have time to taste or buy delicious natural products.
