On January 28-29, the figure of an outstanding teacher and artist, the founder of extracurricular art education in Transcarpathia Zoltan Bakoniy will be honored on the occasion of his 100th anniversary with a number of scientific and artistic events in the regional center.
A true teacher, Zoltan Bakoniy founded the fine arts studio in Uzhgorod and was managing it for 43 years. He ushered thousands of children and teenagers into the world of beauty, nearly 400 students of the talented mentor became professional artists. Also Zoltan Bakony left his extensive teaching experience in theoretical works and more than 300 publications in periodicals.
"Zoltan Bakoniy and Transcarpathian school of art of the twentieth century: the artistic-pedagogical and human dimensions" – the international scientific conference under this title will be dedicated to Zoltan Baloniy’s contribution to the development of fine arts in Transcarpathia, as well as to the problems of history and modern development of art education in the region and Ukraine in general.
So, about one hundred participants – guests from abroad, leading local scholars and young researchers – will arrive on January 28. A tour of the cultural places of interest in the capital of Transcarpathian will be organized for the participants.
And the actual scientific conference begins the next day, January 29, at 10.00, in the Transcarpathian Regional Palace of Children and Youth "PADIYUN". It will be solemnly opened by the heads of the regional Department of Education and the Department of Culture, representatives of Transcarpathian Art Institute, and the "PADIYUN" where there is a fine art studio named after Zoltan Bakoniy.
