Youth League for the Protection of Animals (YLPA) have developed the project "Mobile guardianship." Its main goal is to reduce the number of stray animals on the streets. To do this, they created the site "Whiskers, paws, tail" (lapki.in.ua), which will host the photocontest of pets and animals that are looking for a new home. Each Internet user’s "Like" for a photo is one hryvnia from Slando to the project "Mobile guardianship."
The president of the YLPA Iryna Tereshchenko:
"Mobile guardianship is a project for finding and transporting of stray animals by special cars to veterinary clinics for sterilization, socialization and further accommodation under the supervision of guardians. During the project implementation, every stray animals will be assigned to a guardian who will take care of and seek homes for them. We want to reduce the number of stray animals, so we have to provide help more quickly. According to preliminary estimates, thanks to mobile guardianship we can help nearly four thousand animals a year!"
The project implementation will consist of several stages:
• search for animals;
• capture and transportation to clinics (this will be done by trained professionals who catch animals in a painless, humane manner, and a specially equipped car will be purchased for transportation);
• sterilization, vaccination, treatment, if necessary;
• search of new owners.
Youth League for the Protection of Animals is a non-profit NGO. Its work is ensured by donations of people who care about the fate of the unfortunate animals.
