‘Help!’, – are crying those who look at us from the top

Only metal tiles, satellite television equipments, plastic windows, etc we can find on modern multi-stored houses. The other thing with old houses of Uzhgorod historic cente: here both the Austro-Hungarian and Czechoslovak stone buildings are decorated with human figures and faces. The majority of these facades’ decorations are in need of urgent help of professionals.

When walking the historic center of Uzhgorod, few among the local residents at least once in life pulled up a nose up and managed to enjoy by those stucco molding that is more than a century look at us from the top. Thanks to its rich history, it is in the regional center of Transcarpathia almost every building has its own face that breathes by a certain epoch: the Austro-Hungarian, Czechoslovak and Soviet. These figures have seen a lot during their ‘life’, if they were able to speak, they would tell a lot of interesting. And first of all, they would ask for help.

Therefore we can see that the town of epochs is transformed: modern Uzhgorod gradually loses a lot of architectural highlights, and they are being replaced by made of glass buildings that grow like mushrooms. Valuable facades’ decorations and pediments are crying out for help, but almost nobody hears.
