Heavy machinery is already deployed on the passes

In order to prevent emergencies due to severe weather on the roads of the region and to ensure readiness for towing of heavy vehicles, all-terrain vehicles have been deployed on the Abransky pass (Volovets district) and Yablunetsky pass (Rakhiv district). In the event of heavy snowfall, they will clear the roadway.  

This was discussed at the joint meeting of organizations responsible for the safety of roads, the site of the State Emergencies Service in Transcarpathia reported. At the meeting, in addition to coordination, they also determined the main sites on the roads of the region, where road tractors will be deployed in advance.

According to weather forecasts, over the next days, cold weather with wet snow, sleet on the roads, snowdrifts will remain in the region. At night, the temperature will range from 2 to 7 degrees below zero, during the day the temperature will range from +2 to -3 degrees. In the mountains, the temparature may be 5 to 10 degrees below zero. On the roads of the state, regional and local levels, snow is not expected, the pavement is dry, the way is clear.
