On Wednesday, December 18, Transcarpathian Regional Council chairman Ivan Baloha, who is now on an official visit in Budapest, signed with the State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Hungary Zsolt Neymet the agreement on cooperation in the implementation of development projects undertaken in the framework of the Eastern Partnership. The agreement was also signed by the head of the charity fund of Transcarpathian Hungarian Pedagogical Institute Vasyl Brenzovych.
Under the new agreement signed in Budapest, the parties define development projects and undertake their funding on a parity basis (50% to 50%), and also define a range of collaboration. Currently, they have agreed to provide financial assistance for their implementation in the amount of half a million U. S. dollars from the Hungarian party. By March 15, 2014, the parties will have to agree on a list of objects that the investments will be attracted to.
During the implementation of the project, the parties undertake to assist one another by all means possible, try to solve all issues through negotiations, in all possible ways to promote the other party in the implementation of the projects, with a focus on the terms and conditions of the agreement that are required for implementation of the projects.
