Khust district is famous for its Narcissus Valley; Mukachevo, Vynogradiv and Uzhgorod are competing for the best sakura and lime alleys, and the city on the Latorytsya also has the alley of tulip trees; Beregovo district is covered with vineyards…
Among all that, another spot of green beauty on the outskirts of Uzhgorod is almost unnoticed. This place in no way claims any special status, but it is strikingly beautiful.
Near the state border, there is a small forest, where you can now see rapidly growing young oak trees. The young trees cover almost the entire surface of the forest and it takes a lot of effort to walk across this green sea without damaging the shoots that some day may become mighty trees. There is only one path that leads to the middle of the forest and the epicenter of the spring triumph.
There are about three dozen species of this mighty tree in Ukraine. Fourteen species of the oak tree can be found in Transcarpathia.
Recently, all these tree species have often been the victims of felling, and some are even on the brink of extinction.
