“Gray Zone” in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

As part of the festival Docudays UA, the multimedia project "I SAW THAT" by documentary photographer Serhiy Morgunov opened in Uzhgorod.

The exhibition opened yesterday in the "Ilko" gallery in Uzhgorod. Serhiy Morgunov is documentary photographer and director – he has been photographing Donbass since 2014. Since 2016, he has also been documenting the participation of the 128th separate mountain assault brigade in this war.

The exhibition focuses on the so-called "gray zone" – the territory near the front line in the Russian-Ukrainian war, and, in particular, the fate of the people who are living there.

Morgunov also presented multimedia: video of the lives of civilians, Independence Day on the front line, the everyday life of the 128th brigade, as well as one of the battles that took place in August 2016.

After the opening of the exhibition "I saw that", there was a screening of one of the Docudays UA festival films – a documentary "The Distant Barking of Dogs" (Simon Lereng Wilmont. Denmark, Finland, Sweden, 2017). The film was shot in the village of Hnutovo in Donetsk region, near the frontline, and tells about the everyday life of a 10-year-old Oleg and his family amidst the constant cannon fire, where close relations between people are the only lasting thing.
