“Good governance” online conference for Uzhgorod residents

Activities of local business during a crisis. Online conference for local entrepreneurs
On July 27-29, as part of the Good Governance Program, the Aspen Institute Kyiv will hold an online conference “Local Business during the Coronavirus Crisis: Opportunities and Support”.
The COVID-19 pandemic and related quarantine restrictions have dealt a significant blow to small and medium-sized businesses. In the conditions of the global economic recession, the IMF forecasts a decline of 8.2% for the Ukrainian economy, and the number of registered unemployed people has already reached half a million. The consequences of the economic crisis for local self-government, small and medium-sized businesses in the regions are even more severe. Without new sources of funding and support, businesses in the communities remain on the verge of bankruptcy.
The purpose of the online conference is to help small and medium-sized businesses learn about government support programs, opportunities for international technical assistance projects and international organizations, and to help local governments identify ways to work with local businesses to ensure the well-being of communities.
The online conference program includes three thematic streams:
▪ government support programs for business (July 27);
▪ programs and projects of international organizations and technical assistance projects (July 28);
▪ best business development practices in united communities (July 29).
We invite representatives of small and medium business, local governments, as well as business associations of Ukraine to participate. Participation in the event is free subject to pre-registration at: https://forms.gle/Mgs3qc31KGAHQPFU6
Registration will last until July 25, 18:00.
