“Glory to heroes!”: tears of joy on Myr Square (PHOTO)

On Wednesday, December 3, in Mukachevo. on Myr Square, citizens welcomed our defenders. About two hundred soldiers of the 128th Mountain Infantry Brigade came back from the hell of the ATO on leave.

Relatives and colleagues, men and women, children and older people, residents of Mukachevo, Uzhgorod, Transcarpathia – hundreds of people came to the city center to thank them for their service and for returning alive. Representatives of regional authorities also greeted the soldiers and thanked them for their service and their families who were waiting for them patiently at home. On  Myr Syare, an orchestra played patriotic tunes; all people sang along while performing the national anthem, during which the soldiers were holding their hands on their brave hearts.

During the solemn meeting, they honored with a minute of silence those soldiers who have given their lives for the freedom of Ukraine. There were tears, but mostly – tears of joy…

Soldiers of the 128th Brigade, who arrived to Transcarpathia, will have a 10-day vacation. Hundreds of their fellows are still fighting in the East.

The words "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes!" were repeatedly heard on Myr Square, and also hopes that soon we will welcome all our soldiers – alive and intact – who will return with victory.
