Gingerbread festival in Uzhgorod has started!

This was reported on the event’s official Facebook page.
"The Transcarpathian Gingerbread Festival started today in Uzhgorod, in the historic complex Owl Nest," – the post reads.
The main event of the festival is the exhibition and sale of Christmas gingerbread houses from professional and amateur pastry chefs who bake gingerbread at home. Anyone can bring their own gingerbread house and take part in the exhibition.
The festival is set to set a record this year – for the largest number of gingerbread houses in one place. The organizers expect over a hundred houses.
This festival is also charitable – every year 10% of the proceeds from the sale of houses and the proceeds from the charity auction held on the last day of the festival go to sick children. This year, it will be for a girl from Uzhgorod – three-year-old Maria who is currently undergoing medical treatment in Italy.
