A few days ago, the courtyard of Transcarpathian Art Museum turned into a venue for a medieval live concert.
17th century Ukrainian Baroque misuc was performed by the newly formed trio "Posoka" (in the common European hunting jargon, it means "bloody trail of the killed game"). Uzhgorod became the first city to host a concert organized by the Free "Stage".
The concert lasted for 1 hour and 40 minutes. After the performance, the attendees would not let the trio go, they were asking about the instruments, tried to play them, took pictures.
Later, I managed to talk with the band. The leader of "Posoka" is Danylo Pertsov, a Ukrainian composer, multi-instrumentalist. He has played in many bands. Martin Nyaga (cello), though represents Moldova and Romania, speaks a good Ukrainian. Lyubomyr Mariash, who played percussion, was born in Uzhgorod, now lives in Lviv.
"Posoka" is going to come here again in autumn. Their friend, Uzhgorod artist Stepan Tikhonenko, who makes ancient musical instruments and is the founder of the ensemble "Castrum Hung", is going to organize a festival.
