Now you can learn the history of your family online. Site pra.in.ua, which allows to research lineage, has been created in Ukraine. Both professional historians and volunteers help to fill it up with content.
The site pra.in.ua works on the principle of social networks. You can log in and search by region or by last name. Igor Goshovsky is the developer of the portal. His has been researching his genealogy since high school, and traced it back to the 14th century.
Igor has found information about two thousand of his ancestors. It took many years of work.
He decided to create a network where you can research the history of your family easily and free of charge. He made the information, that he has found, available online. Some of the scanned archival documents were provided by researchers. For example, metric books from regions. So now, the site has information about more than two million Ukrainians starting from the 17th century.
Sites that help to learn genealogy are widespread abroad. And archives make more information available online.
