Today, at 02:00, border guards of the Chop detachment, together with officers of the National Police, detained a group of illegal migrants who intended to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
The information about the movement of unknown Asian persons near the village of Onokivtsi in Uzhgorod district was provided to the border guards by the National Police in Transcarpathian region in the course of preventive measures "Migrant". In order to verify the information and conduct search operations, a response team from the department "Uzhgorod" was sent to the specified area. The foreigners were found on the northern outskirts of the village of Onokivtsi. The four detainees who had no documents told that they were citizens of Afghanistan. During the verification, the foreigners admitted that they intended to illegally cross the border with Slovakia in search of better living conditions.
The offenders were arrested and taken to the special center "Onokivtsi". After identification and establishing the circumstances of the offense, the foreigners will be prosecuted for attempting to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine.
